Welcome to Nursery!

Our team consists of Miss Pollard, who is our Nursery teacher, and Mrs McSweeney, Miss Swann and Miss Rakkar who are our support staff. 

Our Nursery is a free-flow environment, consisting of a spacious indoor classroom, separate snack area and a large garden which we share with Reception children for some of the day. Nursery is set up with key base resources in every area, which the children can take anywhere in the Nursery to use in their play. Enhancements are set up based on the children's interests and key events or times of the year, and all adults are clear on each child's individual targets and how to support them in their learning journey.  

Each morning, the children are met at the door by a member of Nursery staff and encouraged to find their pegs and put away their belongings. The children then practise recognising and writing their name and add their photo to the registration board. We then count how many friends are at Nursery, talk about the date and the weather, and participate in an early writing session of either Dough Disco, or Squiggle While You Wiggle. 

During the day, children meet together for two key group times. At the start of the session, we focus on early phonics skills and prime areas. At the end of the session, we focus on the specific areas.
