Welcome to Year 3!

The Year 3 class is taught by Miss Jordan with support from Miss Bayliss.  Within the Year 3 classroom we aim to achieve a dedicated space where we foster a happy, safe, and welcoming environment for all children. Our primary objective is to uphold high standards of education, enabling every pupil to achieve their greatest potential. We believe that a supportive atmosphere is crucial for young learners, and we are committed to nurturing their love for learning.

In English, we employ the "Ready, Steady, Write" scheme. This structured approach aids in developing vital writing skills, allowing children to build upon their abilities progressively. Our pupils engage in various activities that stimulate creativity while honing their grammar, vocabulary, and composition techniques.

In Mathematics, we utilise the White Rose Maths scheme, providing a logical pathway through new mathematical concepts. This method encourages pupils to solidify their understanding of key concepts before progressing towards mastery. By addressing new topics sequentially, we ensure that every child has the opportunity to grasp fundamental principles and build confidence in their mathematical abilities.

Recognising the importance of holistic education, we incorporate Forest School for all children in Year 3 throughout the year. This programme fosters an appreciation for the natural world while equipping students with valuable skills such as fire lighting, building, and investigative techniques.

Additionally, we are proud to offer a range of sports competitions through our sports partnership, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate and develop their sporting abilities.

Our world-class guarantee also includes exciting trips, such as a Stone Age experience, a Christmas pantomime, and visits to our local church, all contributing to a rich and dynamic educational experience that enhances classroom learning.
