  • Year 6

Led by the team of Mr Fortune, Class Teacher and Miss O'Leary, Class Support Year 6 at Lillington is an inspiring and dynamic environment where children are encouraged to conclude their primary school journey with a heightened sense of achievement and purpose. This pivotal year covers a range of mature yet fascinating topics, including 'Britain at War' and Ma'afa, which explores the transatlantic slave trade. These subjects not only enrich our curriculum but also facilitate critical thinking and foster a deeper understanding of historical events that have shaped our world.

Our Year 6 pupils are ambassadors for our school community. Through a variety of leadership roles, students develop essential skills that promote confidence, responsibility, and a sense of belonging. We believe that equipping our children with the academic, personal, social, and emotional competencies is integral to their success, especially as they prepare to transition into secondary education.

In addition to the core curriculum, our children have the opportunity to engage in a plethora of wider-curricular experiences. Activities such as PGL residential trips, school sleepovers, and participation in various local community events provide valuable experiences that enhance their learning and social development outside the classroom. These experiences not only strengthen friendships but also build resilience and independence.

Our children look forward to each new challenge with enthusiasm and a spirit of curiosity. We strive to create an environment where every pupil feels valued and empowered to achieve their personal best. As they take their final steps in primary education, we are committed to supporting them on this journey, ensuring they are well-prepared for the adventures that await in secondary school and beyond.
