PSHE / RSE

At Lillington Nursery and Primary School, we promote personal wellbeing and development through a comprehensive Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education programme. PSHE education is the curriculum subject that gives children the knowledge, understanding, attitudes and practical skills to live safe, healthy, productive lives and meet their full potential.

From September 2020, the Department for Education made Relationships, Sex Education and Health Education compulsory in all schools. Relationships Education is to be taught throughout the academic year and, where relevant, will be taught alongside the Science curriculum.

Our PSHE/RSE curriculum will support pupils to:

  • Maintain a healthy lifestyle, including physical and mental wellbeing.
  • Understand how bodies grow and change.
  • Keep themselves and others safe, including the risks and laws of drug taking, and staying safe online.
  • Build close and positive relationships with others.
  • Learn about economic wellbeing, including money, careers, and other aspirations.
